SOME EXTRA HELP QUITTING

A free four-session clinic to help you quit smoking at Jefferson County Hospital will begin in April and will meet every for 4 conscutive weeks.

The four-session clinic is based on American Cancer Society Freedom from Smoking curriculum and the QuitSmart program developed at Duke University. While there is no charge for the sessions, participants are strongly encouraged to obtain medication to help them quit. Free nicotine patches are available through the Iowa Quitline, 1-800-QUIT-NOW. Chantix and Zyban are available by prescription. Many local employers sponsor quit smoking medications for their workers and medications may also be covered by your health insurance or by Medicaid.
